Labouring dreams of a better wage
MAY 2 — In the not-too-distant past I was a college student looking forward to earning some pocket money.
My first part-time job at an ice cream shop in Bangsar paid a handsome salary of RM2 an hour.
At seven hours per shift, I would have made RM350 a month. There was no ‘s’ in perk: we were entitled to one free scoop of ice cream a day.
